Hiking, biking and mountain experiences in the Zillertal

Summer holiday in Tux

Hiking and mountaineering – A sea of mountains

The reward awaits you at the top – a breathtaking view of hundreds of mountain peaks! More than 350 km of hiking trails await you in Tux and Finkenberg – and each with its own character: leisurely walks, high-altitude trails to romantic huts and high-alpine paths lead past crystal-clear mountain lakes, across fragrant flower meadows and through ancient mountain forests … enjoy the joy of hiking!

Exploration tour on the Hintertux Glacier

From July to September, every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, an experienced glacier guide from the Tuxertal ski school takes you on an exciting and eventful exploration tour on the Hintertux Glacier. At a spectacular 3,250 m you will learn more about the surrounding mountain world and enjoy the breathtaking view. You will hike over millennia-old glacier ice, past mighty, turquoise-blue ice crevasses and learn interesting facts about the formation and structure of our glacier.

Into the Zillertal cycling fun

From beginner or family tours to challenging mountain bike trails – on our more than 800 km of well-maintained routes of all difficulty levels, there is something for everyone. A leisurely trip with the family along the Ziller – or would you prefer to conquer a three-thousander? 800 km of developed bike and cycling tours leave nothing to be desired.

Nordic walking in the idyllic Tux mountain world

Sporting 'full body training' on the one hand and experiencing the Tyrolean natural landscapes on the other is made possible by 'walking with poles'. The nordicsports active center is located in Tux, the high valley at the foot of the Hintertux Glacier. The ideal altitude offers optimal conditions for sports and nature lovers! The idyllic mountain and glacier world (1,300–3,250 m) with healthy high-altitude air offers 80 km of Nordic walking trails and 350 km of marked hiking trails in summer.

Climbing – the new trend sport

More and more people want to go up, preferably via a via ferrata or a rock face. The Tux-Finkenberg holiday region offers the best conditions with the Spannagel via ferrata and climbing area and the Penken.
